Justin Rose has told Kenny Perry he has made the wrong decision in opting against playing at the Open Championship.
TaylorMade professional Perry recorded his third PGA Tour victory of the year on Sunday when he beat Brad Adamonis and Jay Williamson in a sudden death playoff at the John Deere Classic.
With Tiger Woods sidelined by a knee injury, many leading players view the tournament at Royal Birkdale as a genuine opportunity to win a Major.
Perry, however, has chosen to stay on the other side of the Atlantic and play at the US Bank Championship - a decision Rose cannot understand.
"He''s arguably the best player in the world right now and I find it amazing he''s not here," said Rose.
The Englishman added: "I couldn''t imagine opting out of Majors - it''s what I want to judge myself on."
Perry''s recent run of form has seen him climb to 16th in the world rankings and second in the FedEx Cup standings, as well as securing his place on the US Ryder Cup team for September''s match at Valhalla. |
