Rocco Mediate has confirmed he will join the star-studded field for the Scottish Open at Loch Lomond next week.
The Callaway professional has been competing on the PGA Tour for more than 20 years and has five victories to his name, but had to wait until last month to rise to worldwide prominence.
He finished tied with Tiger Woods at the top of the leaderboard at the US Open and even matched the world number one in an 18-hole playoff, only to lose out at the first extra hole.
The injured Woods will not play at the Scottish Open, which is the last European Tour event before the Open Championship, but Mediate will find himself competing against many of the world''s top golfers.
Phil Mickelson, Adam Scott, Ernie Els, Angel Cabrera and Lee Westwood will all tee off at Loch Lomond when the tournament gets underway on July 10th, while Gregory Havret will return to defend his title. |
