Harrington hoping to end win drought

Padraig Harrington is hoping to rediscover the form that made him a Major winner at this week''s European Open.

The Wilson professional finally went some way towards fulfilling his potential last year by winning the Irish Open and then beating Sergio Garcia in a playoff to clinch the Open Championship at Carnoustie.

However, the Irishman has endured a disappointing 2008 and is still searching for his first win of the season.

With the defence of his Open title just a fortnight away, Harrington told Reuters it is important for him to start winning again - beginning at the €506,392 (£403,000) first prize European Open at The London Golf Club in Kent.

"There have been plenty of top-tens and top-fives to keep me going but the wins are definitely the most important part," he added.

Harrington faces a tough task to win in Kent, as the field also includes TaylorMade professionals Sergio Garcia and Justin Rose, in-form Titleist golfer Robert Karlsson and a resurgent Colin Montgomerie.ADNFCR-1571-ID-18667451-ADNFCR
