Cobra golfer Ian Poulter will tee off at the French Open today despite still suffering from an injured wrist.
The 32-year-old Englishman was forced to withdraw midway through the US Open at Torrey Pines due to the problem and is "armed with a jackknife and reels of sticky tape" to support his wrist at this week''s European Tour event, according to the Telegraph.
Poulter may not be at full fitness but he is keen to put in a good display in Versailles as September''s Ryder Cup draws closer.
The Hertfordshire-born player has slipped to 25th in the points table after a series of indifferent performances this season.
"I am going to play what I need to," Poulter told reporters this week.
"The wrist is fine for now. I played 18 holes the other day - the first time since the US Open - and shot a couple under which was nice," he added.
Poulter''s last European Tour victory came at the Madrid Open in 2006.
