Ochoa bidding for grand slam

Mexico''s Lorena Ochoa heads to the LPGA Championship this week looking to continue her bid to win all four women''s Majors in one year.

The world number one was victorious at the Kraft Nabisco Championship in April and will be hoping to win again at the Maryland event, which starts at Bulle Rock tomorrow.

Victory at the LPGA Championship would cap off an emotional few weeks for Ochoa - she pulled out of the recent Ginn Tribute tournament to visit her sick uncle, but he died before she arrived back at the family home in Guadalajara.

Ochoa said this week: "Of course, it was very tough, but in a way I feel at peace that I spent time with them."

Speaking about her prospects of clinching the grand slam this year, she added: "Those things only happen a few times in your career and here I am and I''m going to make sure I give it a good try."

Victory at Bulle Rock would represent Ochoa''s third consecutive Major title, as she also won the women''s British Open at St Andrews last year.

Seon Hwa Lee of South Korea clinched victory at the Ginn Tribute in Ochoa''s absence, beating Karrie Webb in a playoff.
