Top two women to play in Sybase Classic

The two best female golfers in the world will go head-to-head at the Sybase Classic in New Jersey next week.

Mexico''s Lorena Ochoa and Sweden''s Annika Sorenstam, who has recently announced that she is to retire from the game at the end of the season, will face each other in the tournament that runs between May 15th and 18th.

Ochoa has won the previous two Sybase events, while Sorenstam has been victorious in the competition on two previous occasions.

It was announced last month that four legends of the game will be joining the current crop of stars in New Jersey this week.

Sherri Steinhauer, Hee-Won Han, Gloria Park and Michel Redman - all ex-Sybase Classic champions - will be taking to the fairways to compete with the more-recent winners.

Tournament manager Julia Howell said it was "very exciting" to see them return and suggested they may wish to "recreate the magic" of years gone by.
