Tiger eyes US Open

Nike golfer Tiger Woods is hopeful he can recover from injury in time to take the field at the US Open in June.

According to the world''s best golfer, his rehabilitation following knee surgery is going as planned and there is a good chance he will be challenging for the second major championship of the year at Torrey Pines in California.

There is even the possibility that Woods could make the line-up at Jack Nicklaus'' Memorial tournament in Dublin, Ohio, in two weeks'' time.

Commenting on his chances of making the Open, golf''s most-famous face said: "I''m just trying to get the leg organised enough to where I can play and hopefully I can play before.

"If not, if I can''t play before, then hopefully [I''ll be] at the Open."

The world number one also indicated that he has started chipping and putting but is not doing anything more than that.

This year''s US Open takes place between June 12th and 15th and will be played on a public golf course for only the second time in the competition''s history.
