The main difference between UK golfers and their American counterparts is that British players are more interested in enjoying themselves, it has been claimed.
Bob Harig, a golf commentator with US television network ESPN, told the Guardian recently that players such as Paul Casey, Ian Poulter and Darren Clarke "look like they know how to have fun".
Mr Harig suggested to Guardian blogger Bill Elliott that a sense of enjoyment and togetherness could be one of the factors behind the European team''s dominance of the Ryder Cup in recent years.
He said: "You can imagine them dancing on a table the night before a match.
"Not our guys ... with them it''s just golf, golf, golf. Maybe it''s because they want to win so much that they don''t."
The 2008 Ryder Cup begins on September 16th at the Valhalla Golf Club in Kentucky.
