Henrik Stenson carded an opening round of 68 at the Asian Open today to share the lead with three other players.
As the highest ranked player at the tournament, the Srixon golfer is favourite to win in Shanghai and he started strongly by finishing on four under par along with Mikko Ilonen, Jeev Milka Singha and England''s Oliver Wilson.
Stenson is looking to banish bad memories of the Tomson Shanghai Pudong Golf Club after narrowly missing out on the title in a playoff defeat two years ago.
"Obviously you don''t want to bring back the memories of how it felt five minutes after losing the playoff but I enjoy myself here," he told the European Tour website after his first round.
"It is a long way from home but a nice place here in Shanghai and a nice course."
The 32-year-old Swede is currently ranked 13th in the world rankings and second on the European Tour Order of Merit, behind Masters champion Trevor Immelman.
