Following his fifth-place finish in the China Open at the weekend, Northern Ireland''s Graeme McDowell has moved back into sixth spot in the Ryder Cup qualifying race.
The 28-year old recently won the Ballantine''s Championship in South Korea and this has given him the confidence to press on, he said, although he admitted he needs to keep "plugging away".
McDowell missed out on the 2006 edition of the Ryder Cup at Ireland''s K-Club, which is something he is desperate to avoid this year.
"The Ryder Cup is the ultimate goal this year," he told reporters last week.
"I am off to a very good start but I realise that is all I am off to, a good start, and there is a lot of work to do."
McDowell finished fifth place in China, one shot behind English duo Simon Griffiths and Oliver Wilson on level par.
Meanwhile, Setanta Sports has said there is a "fairly good chance" that Boo Weekley - described as a "great character" - will play his way on to the US Ryder Cup team.
