Provisional figures show that Callaway Golf Company''s net sales for the first quarter of the year were up by ten per cent on the same period in 2007.
Estimates show that sales amounted to $366 million (£180 million) in the first three months of the year, compared with $335 million last year.
The company is already optimistic that its full-year financial results for this year will be "significantly higher" than in 2007. In fact, it has forecast full-year sales of $1.16 billion.
George Fellows, president of Callaway Golf, said: "We continue to build upon the momentum we gained in 2007, including additional improvements in our supply chain and product development processes.
"The strong sell-in to the retail channel during the first quarter reflects the strength of our brands and the quality of our 2008 product line."
Callaway Golf will release the actual first-quarter financial results on May 1st.
Some players sponsored by the golf brand include Brendan Jones, Craig Parry and Ernie Els.
