Golfer, 97, reveals secrets of longevity

Football fan David Morgan made the headlines recently when he travelled to London to support Cardiff City in their FA Cup semi-final against Barnsley.

The Welshman''s presence at Wembley was remarkable because, now 97 years old, he had been present for Cardiff''s last FA Cup triumph, when they defeated Arsenal to lift the trophy in 1927.

Dubbed "the world''s most patient football fan" by the Independent, Mr Morgan has now revealed another of his sporting passions - golf.

Although he now requires a buggy to get around the holes and struggles to drive further than 150 yards, Mr Morgan still plays regularly at his local golf course and shows no signs of stopping.

He told the newspaper that one of his secrets is to not fill the bag with too many clubs.

"Six are enough - three woods, a six-iron, sand wedge and a putter," the Penarth resident said.

Earlier this year, 92-year-old Leo Fiyalko hit a hole in one at his local golf course in Florida, despite being declared legally blind.
