Boo Weekley has claimed that he is well prepared to defend his title at this week''s Verizon Heritage following his first experience of the Masters.
The Cleveland golfer''s debut Augusta performance finished in a tie for 20th place and he said that he has gained confidence going into the tournament at Hilton Head in South Carolina this week, Reuters reports.
Weekley claimed his first PGA Tour victory at the Verizon Heritage last year and will be hoping to repeat his success this time round against a strong field that includes Jim Furyk, Davis Love III and Ernie Els, who came second in 2007.
Speaking about his experience at the Masters, Weekley said: "Man, the golf was hard
Augusta will get you ready for anything.
"I feel like if I can putt halfway decent on those greens, when I get here maybe I can carry that over and putt a little better here this week."
Born Thomas Brent in Florida, Weekley was nicknamed Boo by his father after Yogi Bear''s sidekick.
