A new wedge featuring a groove designed to increase spin on the ball is now available from Taylormade.
The golf company has revealed its new Z TP wedge, with the ''Z'' groove offering ten per cent more volume than the existing ''Y'' range and helping to stop the ball more quickly through increased spin.
With the TP in the title standing for "tour preferred", the new clubs have been designed with the input and advice of professional players, Golfbusinessnews.com reports.
"The Z grooves succeed at grabbing the ball and spinning it in all kinds of conditions," said Brian Bazzel, manager of iron and wedge creation at Taylormade.
According to the website, the Z TP is also exceptionally durable, with feel pockets on the back of the club head and a "smokey-looking" PVD finish.
Golfers using Taylormade clubs at the Masters last week included Justin Rose, Retief Goosen and Sergio Garcia.
