The man who placed the green jacket on 2008 Masters champion Trevor Immelman''s shoulders on Sunday finished 20th overall in this year''s Augusta competition.
Zach Johnson, who won last year''s Masters at one over par, had the honour of crowning his successor during the closing ceremony this weekend, but may feel slightly disappointed after dropping off the leaderboard on the final day.
On Saturday evening - following the joint-best performance of the day - Titleist golfer Johnson was in confident mood, suggesting he was still in with a chance of winning the coveted title.
"I thought if I could post a good number, you never know where it would take me," he said at the time.
"You never know what this course will bring."
But success was not around the corner for the man who came to Georgia to defend the Major, as Immelman held off the challenge from the rest of the field - and Tiger Woods in particular - to become the first South African in 30 years to win the Masters.
