Ochoa enters Hall of Fame after 21st win

14/04/2008

Lorena Ochoa continued her domination of the female golf circuit with victory at the Corona Championship in Mexico.

Shooting a final round of 67, Ochoa finished on 25 under par and 11 shots ahead of second-placed Song-Hee Kim at the Tres Marias Residential Golf Club yesterday.

The win represents Ochoa''s 21st career title and ensures her entry into the LPGA Tour Hall of Fame.

Describing her pleasure at taking a place alongside the greats of the women''s game, the 26-year-old Mexican said that it was "really special" to receive the honour at a tournament in her home country.

"It was an amazing week. I did enjoy myself a lot," Ochoa added.

The world number one has now won three titles in a row, with the Corona Championship victory following closely on from her recent triumph at the Kraft Nabisco Championship in California.
