Taylor Made Irons

Consider the following features when deciding which Taylor Made irons are most suitable for your game.

Taylor Made irons – cavity backs
Cavity back Taylor Made irons have a hollow in the back of the club head. This creates more mass around the perimeter of the club head. Taylor Made irons with cavity backs are therefore less prone to twisting when you miss the sweet spot. This makes Taylor Made irons with cavity backs more forgiving. Many tour professionals now use cavity back irons. Taylor Made irons with deeper cavities are more forgiving but offer less feel to your shots.

Taylor Made irons – blades
Bladed Taylor Made irons have a thinner club head and no cavity in the back. Taylor Made blades provide lots of feel but are less forgiving to hit. Blades are best suited for players with low handicaps.

Taylor Made irons – shafts
Taylor Made irons with graphite shafts are lighter and more suitable for golfers with slower swings or higher handicaps. Golfers with fast swings usually find they are more accurate with steel shafted Taylor Made irons. Most golf professionals with Taylor Made irons play steel shafts. New Taylor Made irons with graphite shafts typically cost euros 100-200 more than a set with steel shafts.

Taylor Made irons - flex
Taylor Made irons with regular flex shafts will be suitable for most golfers. If you have a low handicap or fast swing you may prefer Taylor Made irons with a stiffer shaft. If you have a higher handicap or slower swing you may prefer Taylor Made irons with a more flexible shaft.

Taylor Made irons – lie Taylor Made
irons with a standard lie are suitable for most golfers. If you are a tall golfer or have a more upright swing you may prefer Taylor Made irons with a lie that is 1-2 degrees upright. If you are a short golfer or have a flatter swing you may prefer Taylor Made irons with a lie that is 1-2 degrees flatter.
