After turning professional in 2005 Jeff earned his first PGA Tour card at Q-School for the 2006 season which was to be his rookie year on Tour. The highlight of this year was the double eagle he recorded on the 18th hole at the Westchester Country Club during the Barclays Classic. Jeff holed a fairway wood from 239 yards after a monster driver of 294 yards.
He recorded his best finish on the PGA Tour with a tied for 2nd place at the Wyndham Championship. Things were not all plain sailing though. It took a tied for 6th at the final event of the year to ensure that Jeff would have full playing privileges for the 2008 season.
Jeff left it late again in 2008. During the final PGA Tour event of 2008, the Children's Miracle Network Classic, Jeff was playing just ten days after an appendectomy and was ranked 125th, barely hanging on to a full-season exemption. A 21st place finish moved him up to 118th and he retained his card for 2009.
Jeff is currently sitting in 64th place on the PGA Tour Money List with a 8th place being his best finish of the season so far.

2008 The Open Championship
17-20 July - The Open Championship - Royal Birkdale. The 137th Open Championship was successfully defended by Padraig Harrington. He shot -4 on the back 9 on the Sunday to pull away from Ian Poulter and overnight leader Greg Norman. The Open this year was without one notable absentee as World #1 Tiger Woods was recovering from knee surgery. Greg Norman became the oldest golfer ever to hold at least a share of the 54-hole lead when he led by 2 strokes on +2. Due to extremely high winds, no one managed to play under par for the round, and it was first time since 1986 when the 54-hole leader was not under par. Despite a wrist injury that almost forced him to withdraw prior to the tournament Harrington pulled away from the field with a tremendous back 9 and became only the fifth golfer to retain the Open Championship in the last 50 years.
In Jeff Overton's bag...It’s not often that a professional golfer racks up a score of over 300 for the week. But this is what happened to Jeff this week. In poor weather conditions at The Open Jeff opened his account with his low round of the week, a 72. He followed this up with a pair of 75’s and a 79 to leave a total of 301 blows for the week. Despite this he still picked up a cheque for over $18,000. A great shot of Jeff and his bag - just not great for identifying clubs. Cue our friends at Mizuno who helped us with what Jeff was using this week. His driver was a MP-600 model from Mizuno while his fairway was from their F-60 range. His irons are the premium MP-32 offering from Mizuno and his wedges were from the T-Series with a chrome finish.
